For those that crave the excitement of chasing the mighty Mako Shark, Proline Fishing Charters offers Exclusive Shark Fishing Trips into Bass Strait departing Sorrento Pier, or Portland Marina during the Southern Bluefin Tuna season.
These mighty fish are as exhilarating to angle for as Marlin, their mind blowing runs and acrobatical leaps will leave you breathless. Mako Sharks grow in excess of 300kg and will give you a workout you’ll never forget.
Proline Fishing Charters Shark Trips are run as an exclusive Shark Trip where the boat is booked for your group only. The duration of these Charters has to be a minimum of 8 hours to give you the best possible chance to nab a beauty!
Bass Strait and the Southern ocean are prime areas for Mako Sharks to roam.
This region has the Continental Shelf which parallels the coast for the entirety of Southern Australia, producing an abundance of food for the Mighty Mako to feed on.
Whilst the burley is set, and the excitement mounts as the wait for shark’s progresses, you will have the opportunity to bottom fish for other species.
Depending on the area we are fishing, you have the chance to catch species such as Snapper, Flathead, Morwong, School Shark, Gummy Shark and Nannygai.
In the burley trail on any given day, it is not uncommon to see other species of Sharks, including Blue Sharks, Bronze Whaler Sharks, Thresher Sharks and even White Pointers.

Our prices are fully inclusive of GST, fishing rods, bait & tackle, and we serve a sausage sizzle BBQ. If you charter one of our boats for 8 or 10 hours, we include hamburgers and salad also. All your fish will be cleaned and bagged ready to cook.

Warm clothes, hat, sunscreen, spray jacket, camera and leave an esky in your car to keep your fish cool on your way home. All anglers must have a current Victorian Fishing Licence if you’re over 18 and not a pensioner. They can be purchased online here.
Pricing for these Shark Charters is as follows:
Exclusive use of the boat for 8 hours: $2900 for up to 15 people *
($195 per head if numbers exceed 15.)
Exclusive use of the boat for 10 hours: $3600 for up to 15 people *
($240 per head if numbers exceed 15.)
* 20 maximum per boat.
