Port Phillip Bay & Bass Strait Sport Fishing Charters

These Sport Fishing Charters are one of our most popular. The duration of these trips can be 5, 6, 8 or 10 hours. We generally run 5hr trips for individuals and small groups, as this is long enough to get a great feed of mixed bag Reef Fish still giving you the rest of the day free.

The Port Phillip Bay & Bass Strait charters work around the Bay, Port Phillip Heads & The Rip, going out into Bass Strait if the conditions permit. Regulations only allow us to traverse the Rip if swell conditions are below 2 metres and if the wind is 20 knots or less from the southerly sector.

The fish we target on these charters is generally what is at its peak at the time. If it’s Snapper season, we will try our very best to put you onto them. The same applies for the mighty Kingfish which are in season from late January through till Easter, and if a Mako Shark comes sniffing around the burley trail, be assured we will try to get you a feed of fresh flake.

If they don’t fire, we can always get you a good feed of the many other fish varieties Port Phillip Heads, The Rip & Bass Strait have on offer.

No, we will cater your experience dependant on your level of comfort and what you want to get out of the day. We can cater a unique and memorable experience for everyone.

What is the charter boat like?

You’re in for a treat, your fishing charter will be aboard the Biggest Charter Boat in Victoria. Due South is a 60 foot Westcoaster Sportfish Our vessel is skippered by professional Masters who have been fishing these waters for their entire lives, with experience second to none.

Individuals & small groups will be grouped together to make up minimum numbers.

what's included?

All of our Fishing Charters are fully inclusive of GST, top of the line fishing rods, all the bait and tackle you’ll need to catch an impressive haul, along with a sausage sizzle BBQ. If you charter one of our boats for an 8 or 10 hour tour, we include hamburgers and salad also. All your fish will be cleaned and bagged, ready for you to take home and cook.

What to bring?

Warm clothes, hat, sunscreen, spray jacket, camera and leave an esky in your car to keep your fish cool on your way home. All anglers must have a current Victorian Fishing Licence if you’re over 18 and not a pensioner. They can be purchased online here.
